As part of making people conscious of the impact of diseases and to provide them information about the disease if they want to learn more about it, Haemophilia Association of Lesotho(HAL) has taken few steps\u00a0 and organized few awareness campaigns such as Health Care Professional’s Training, Annual Haemophilia marathon and Teachers training.<\/b><\/h6>

TEACHERS TRAINING<\/b><\/h1>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In 2022 Haemophilia Association of Lesotho held its very first teachers’ workshop. One of our main objectives is to diagnose more people out there, so in line with this, the pilot one-day workshop (we hope to have more in future covering more schools) was intended to educate teachers with basic knowledge of haemophilia so they could help identify suspected haemophiliac children at their schools and refer them for screening & diagnostic tests – considering teachers spend a lot of time with these children.<\/strong><\/div>
Haemophilia signs & symptoms are more easily identified in children because they are normally hyper energetic, but it is a rare condition that a lot of people do not know about and this is a gap we’re trying to bridge<\/strong><\/h6>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In 2023 HAL multi disciplinary step down training taking place at Thaba Bosiu. There was about 25 HCP’s from different districts in different departments being Doctors, Nurses and others who were trained. This was the most successful training that HAL has done.\u00a0\u00a0<\/h6>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

HAEMOPHILIA MARATHON(1st and 2nd edition)<\/h1>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

On April 17th 2021 the Haemophilia Association of Lesotho (HAL) held its first Haemophilia Day Marathon to commemorate World Haemophilia Day. it was about 10km marathon which was held in Maseru district.<\/h6>
On April 20th<\/sup> 2024 the Haemophilia Association of Lesotho (HAL) will held a haemophilia marathon at Sethaleng sa Mopapa Maseru. Haemophilia Marathon is a marathon that commemorate the haemophilia day on 17 April.<\/h6>
It is celebrated to create awareness about people living with haemophilia. When wounded, either by way of injury or cut, haemophilia patients bleed but their blood does not clot. They bleed continuously.<\/h6>
The objective is to ensure treatment of up to 90% of Lesotho based haemophilia patients. The haemophilia marathon is a campaign and awareness initiative for people with haemophilia<\/h6><\/div>
The marathon help gather people for the purpose of sharing knowledge about the condition so as to understand it. This way HAL will be able to help this community to identify like patients and, be safe guarded while ensuring that they are able to get treatment and care from local hospitals and caregivers, as \u201c they are already providing them but people are not aware of it.\u201d\u00a0<\/h6><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
